Little surprises for divers celebrating World Oceans Day at Lily Beach

Every year on the 8th June, people all over the world celebrate World Oceans Day and at Lily Beach Maldives divers joined this annual celebration once again.

The team at Prodivers took their divers on a guided tour of the house reef and showed them all the different little creatures which can be found beneath the surface. The small things on the reef are fascinating and make excellent subjects for photography, especially the little red frogfish recently found hiding on the reef. This rare and often searched for critter is not alone, amongst others calling the Lily Beach house reef their home are mating pipefish, beautiful nudibranches, small shrimps and a tiny octopus made it a very special World Oceans Day dive.

Although South Ari Atoll is famous for its abundance of manta ray and whale shark sightings, it’s not only the giants of the ocean that make diving worthwhile, the little surprises on the reefs are also amazing and the team at Lily Beach are looking forward to helping you find them!

As a small token of appreciation to the ocean that provides such fantastic dives every day of the year, a team of divers helped to clean up the house reef – a very big thank you to those divers!
