Reef full of turtles discovered near Innahura Maldives
28 Apr 2019The Prodivers team at Innahura Maldives has been making a lot of exciting discoveries since the resort’s opening earlier this year and their latest is a reef full of turtles! 48 hawksbill turtles were seen during just one dive at this site, which is very close to Innahura and can be accessed not only by divers but snorkellers on the half-day snorkel excursions too.
With its location on the outer reef of the atoll, the site is also great for spotting many other marine creatures – some dwelling on the reef, others just passing by in the blue. Dolphins are regularly seen in this area from the boat and on occasion, it has been possible to snorkel with them here too.
The Lhaviyani Atoll is already known as being a sea turtle hot spot due to the largest population of Green Sea turtles in the Maldives residing at and around Kuredu Caves, this latest discovery confirms that the Lhaviyani is the place to be for anyone with a desire to dive, snorkel or swim with turtles.
