Top Critter Dive Sites in Maldives’ Lhaviyani Atoll

The Maldives is very well known for its bigger fish encounters, encounters with sharks, manta rays and turtles, but the underwater world is also a paradise for macro lovers. Dive really slowly along the reefs in Lhaviyani Atoll and you’ll be rewarded with weird and wonderful critters of all shapes and colours – some are so camouflaged they need a very keen eye to be able to spot them. Check out our gallery for some of critters to look out for on your dives including ghost pipe fish, ribbon eels, harlequin shrimps, frog fish, leaf fish, nudibranchs and porcelain crabs, especially when diving at the following reefs, rated by our instructors as the Top Critter Dive Sites in Lhaviyani.

Kuredu: Anemone Thila, Tinga Giri, Wall, Aquarium and Kuredu House Reef.

Komandoo: Anemone Thila, Kuredu House Reef, Aquarium, Latheef and Nakolhu Giri.

Hurawalhi & Kudadoo: Maa giri, Anemone Thila, Kuredu Outreef, Wall and Vavvaru Outreef.

Innahura: Gaviamas Giri, Anemone Thila, Kudamas Giri, Nakolhu Giri and Fun Giri.
