Turtles galore, clouds of brightly coloured fish, stingrays, eagle rays and even the majestic mantas, are all waiting to be spotted by those who are looking for exciting marine adventures and decide to join the Prodivers’ snorkel boat excursions.

Snorkel boats are a fantastic way to see a little more of the Maldives while enjoying being out on the ocean, cruising the impossibly blue waters with a chance of seeing dolphins too. Prodivers schedule regular trips, both half-day and full-day, for guests to enjoy the spectacular underwater world and the snorkel guides are experts at spotting all the incredible marine creatures, from the small camouflaged critters hiding on the reef to the larger fish such as huge green Napoleon wrasse and tuna cruising by in the blue water. The underwater encounters, picture-postcard scenery as well as refreshments and a friendly crew will make this an excursion to be remembered and maybe even repeated again and again!

These fun-filled excursions are suitable for all – children as young as four years old are welcome to join. For safety, all participants should wear fins and be comfortable in deep water. If snorkelling from shore is tricky due to not having a willing snorkel buddy, the boats with guides solve that problem as the guides are always happy for you to accompany them. You can bring your own snorkel equipment or rent it from Prodivers to save luggage space.

Anyone tempted to join the snorkel boats but feels they are not confident enough with their snorkelling abilities, can join a snorkel introduction, to learn the basics and build confidence, simply ask at the dive center and the team will be pleased to help. One very important piece of advice… don’t leave the Maldives without snorkelling, the islands are beautiful but underwater is incredible.
