Prodivers: 1991 -1992 part 2!

29 Jan 2013

Last week on our Facebook page we asked you to guess which boat was used as a live aboard back in the early days of Prodivers. The answer was Saaraa Dhoni (well done to those who got it right). Saaraa Dhoni has gone through a number of changes since those first few years, and is now used as one of snorkel boats. However when she first came to Kuredu Saaraa was chosen to take some of guests on fantastic dive cruises around the adjacent Atolls.

Each Atoll in the Maldives has its own unique feel, with the diving offered by Vakarufalhi in the South Ari Atoll often greatly differing in style to some of those available in the Lhaviyani ffom Kuredu or Komandoo. Thus Saaraa gave the guests a great way to experience a wider slice of the Maldivian diving scene. Even today although Prodivers no longer runs a live a board the full day dive trips up to the Noonu Atoll still proves to be on of the most popular boats on offer, and allows some phenomenal diving.

For the last 25 years Prodivers has grown into one of the largest and most respected dive center sin the Maldives, however there was once, briefly, a Prodivers outside of the Maldives, to be ready for next weeks anniversary posts we’d like you to go our Facebook page and guess in which country other than the Maldives did we open a dive school?
