Prodivers: 1991-92
21 Jan 2013
There’s been a lot going on recently with the anniversary build up. We have launched our big Mr-PD competition, and are still collecting votes on your favourite Kimmo Hagman pictures on our Facebook page.
This week we are looking back to the 1991/92 season, where Kuredu grew dramatically with the addition of a further 80 rooms. By now Kuredu and Prodivers had been operating for 4 years and were getting very well known as the place to come when visiting the Maldives. With 7 new staff joining the team in the winter of ‘91 Prodivers already was showing signs that it could become the largest dive center in the Maldives. The growth allowed the company to handle the increase in the number of divers and snorkelers that were visiting the island, and to become a bigger part of the Kuredu Island Resort.
This week a number of new pictures have been added to the Facebook page – showing off both the diving and social side of Prodiver life on Kuredu during this time. At this time Prodivers also operated a live-aboard, where divers were able to go out and visit the neighbouring atolls of Baa and Raa, as well as the Lhaviayni, the boat used back then is still in service today – but can you guess which one it was? Check out the Facebook page for more information.
