When Kuredu Island Resort reopened for the winter of 1989 it opened with 30 more rooms and had expanded into the German tourist market. Prodivers had also expanded to meet the growing demand for excellent diving here in the Lhaviyani Atoll.  Tammy, Marie and Kimmo joined the team. German instructor Alfons also came on board to help with the German speaking guests now arriving on the island.

This was the first year Kuredu Stayed open through the summer. The hotel only had 50-60 rooms occupied during this period, and Prodivers went down to just two staff, Harry and Elisabeth. Although there were only a few guests these two had a very busy time of it, running courses, dives and introductions.

We have managed to dig out one of the first Prodivers Flags form this period. With its wonderful combination of Green, Pink and yellow I feel it is only right that this get put back into circulation for a limited time, the only question is where, head over to our Facebook page and like us for a chance to vote as to about where e should hang the flag.
