Winner of the Prodivers Maldives ‘100 dive sites’ photo contest

28 Nov 2014

Together with the ‘100 dive sites’ blog series, in which our base leaders revealed their favourite spots around Kuredu, Komandoo, Lily Beach and Vakarufalhi, we ran a photo contest where you could upload your best underwater images. Thanks for taking part!

We received plenty of beautiful shots of sharks, manta rays, nudibranchs, turtles, whale sharks and other amazing creatures that have made the reefs of Lhaviyani, Noon and South Ari Atolls their home.

Our expert jury has decided that the winner of the Prodivers Maldives photo contest is – ta-da, tada – Lori Ballantyne with the Goby image. The photo exhibits great macro photography skills, it is crisp, in focus, with a perfect depth of field, bringing the goby to the forefront of the photo, yet still showing a tiny bit of the reef where these lovely fish can be found and taken photos of.

Congratulations, Lori, hope to see you on Kuredu again soon for more awesome photo opportunities!

Speaking of photography, in case you’ve missed the announcement, we’re organizing an INON UK Underwater photography workshop between 3rd – 11th October 2015. It will be run by Lisa Collins, an award-winning underwater photographer, and will mainly focus on the amazing manta ray and shark encounter experiences at dive sites that Prodivers Kuredu is proud to be able to take you to.

Find out more info about the workshop here and secure your spot– the package offer is reasonably priced and to get the most of the workshop, there are limited spaces available.

Keep your eyes peeled for more amazing underwater photos, taken while diving with Prodivers Kuredu, Komandoo, Lily Beach and Vakarufalhi right here on our blog.
