We have some great news to bring you today, from a little further afield than usual. Through the hard work of hundreds of different organisations and people, spearheaded by the Manta Trust, today Manta Rays were successfully added to the list of protected creatures by CITES.

CITES sets out to band trade in endangered species, and through today’s actions means that it is now illegal to sell, buy and trade manta ray products in over 175 different countries across the world.

This is a giant leap in the protection of these amazing rays, and hopefully means the start of a promising future for our beloved rays!
