Dive the Maldives

Not long after the Aquanauta scuba diving group from Brazil left Kuredu, we welcomed our Swiss German repeater guests ‘Pressluft’ Junkies’ for their second visit.

Daniel, Mizuho, Marco, Reto, Alexander and Ralph, all of them Prodivers Maldives repeaters (yes, a whole lot of discount for them), got hooked on scooter diving last year, and their adrenaline addiction didn’t leave them any other choice but to book a week on Kuredu this year as well.

During their 6-day diving holiday, the group did a total of 17 dives, 12 of which were scooter dives. Elodie, who was taking care of the group throughout their stay already on their previous visit, took them out to buzz along the reefs three times a day, every day, and showcased the most action-packed channels, such as Peak crossing, KFFC-Peak, Felivaru Kandu, Kudadu Kandu, Naifaru Kandu, Fushivaru Kandu, Kuredu Express, and some outreefs like Caves to Latheef (in one dive!), plus the ‘normal’ dive sites like The Shipyard and Aliha Giri.

If you’ve not gone crying in the corner and are still reading this, here’s an incomplete list of the groups’ sightings: many many many many grey reef sharks (high double-digits in French require too much math, so let’s just stick with ‘many’!), many eagle rays, lots of stingrays, tunas, barracudas, turtes, and oh – some silvertips and a lemon shark during the KFFC-Peak channel crossing, a leopard shark near Zafari, two yellow frogfish at Aliha Giri…

And we could go on and on. And on!

What are your fondest action-packed diving memories of Kuredu? Would you recommend scooter diving to your friends?
