Kuda Rah Thila Lily Beach Maldives

There is a myriad of beautiful dive sites around Lily Beach, Maldives, but some really stand out – such as the popular Kuda Rah Thila, a favourite and well-known dive site in South Ari Atoll.

Declared a protected marine area, Kuda Rah Thila is one of the most exciting dive sites in South Ari Atoll. The long reef top lies between 12-14m. The eastern part is characterised by a large overhang on both sides of the reef, sheltering huge numbers of blue striped snappers, oriental sweetlips, squirrel fish and many other schooling fish. These overhangs are also home to a healthy variety of soft corals, feeding off the strong, nutrient-rich currents that pass through this area. Large groupers, stingrays and a variety of shark species sometimes join the feast. Also our smallest creatures found their home in this thila: from pretty nudibranches, small shrimps and crabs to rare creatures like ghostpipe fishes and stone fishes. A small tunnel swimthrough at the west tip completes a truly memorable dive. Due to the good location of Lily Beach, we can reach the thila within 35 minutes by boat.

Have a look at our photo gallery and see what you could expect! We look forward to to showing you Kuda Rah Thila as well as all other beautiful dive sites in South Ari Atoll.
