Friday 13th is thought by many to be a very unlucky day but for two guests on Kuredu recently it turned out to be a very lucky day indeed….when he asked ‘Will you marry me?’ and she said ‘Yes!’. It’s not every day there is an underwater marriage proposal…

The afternoon boat set off for Kuredu Caves, the divers full of anticipation of the turtles they were bound to see, all except for Sascha who had been plotting and planning with the Prodivers Kuredu team to make it an extra special dive for his girlfriend Anke.

During the dive Sascha got Anke’s attention, pointed and made a turtle sign, Anke looked in the direction he was pointing and instead of a turtle she found a small box (discreetly placed in the sand by Julia and Nicole who were on the dive and ready to take pictures and film the special occasion). She opened the box to find a ring inside! Sascha showed her a sign which read ‘ Will you marry me?’ and she said, ‘YES!’.

The delighted couple were welcomed back to the dive center for celebrations to the tune of ‘I think I wanna marry you’ and a big round of applause. Their whole family had waited for them to return from the boat and together everyone celebrated with a bottle of sparkling wine organised by Prodivers.

An afternoon to remember and a special dive for the log book. Congratulations Anke and Sascha, the entire Prodivers Team wish you a very happy life together.
