Kudah Rah Thila

Kudah Rah Thila is one of the Maldives most famous and most visited dive sites.
Well known for the schooling fish that call Kudah Rah Thila home, the dive site is packed full of snappers, fusiliers, jack fish and much much more.
Located just 15 minutes away from Vakarufalhi, Kuda Rah remains close to the top of most people’s wish list when they dive in the South Ari Atoll.
But it’s not all about the fish life. Kudah Rah also boasts good coral growth and large gorgonian fans, especially in the overhangs that can be found on either side of the Thila. A swim through archway offers walls and a ceiling dripping with colorful soft corals. When there is a current running across the dive site, the action intensifies as Kudah Rah turns into a hunting ground and a playground for dolphins.
But the highlight of the dive site has to be the incredible school of blue stripe snappers. Covering almost two thirds of the Thila, the schooling snappers are a delight to take photos of, to film, or even just to hang back and watch them as they jive and dance across the reef.
The movie below offers a snapshot of Kudah Rah Thila and the amazing fish life surrounding it. Keep your eyes peeled for the bright yellow trumpet fish that hide in the middle of the snappers as a way to help them hunt.
