About
Madivaru Thila is a dive site which is flourishing in terms of new coral growth. This thila has walls with overhangs and sloping areas, which are completely covered with table corals and other types of hard corals.
Various shrimps and nudibranches can be found on the walls located around the edge of the reef. Occasionally you can find nurse sharks resting amongst the coral blocks. Glassfish fill the overhangs and need to be gently swept aside to see fish being cleaned and moray eels hiding behind them. Schools of blue-stripe snappers and humpback snappers along the slopes. The top reef is covered with coral, with stonefish and scorpion fish camouflaged amongst the colours.
