Giuliana takes on the role of Assistant Dive Centre Manager at Kuredu

04 Feb 2019

As Prodivers Maldives moves towards the opening of Innahura and Ludwig starts a new chapter in his diving career as Base Leader of the new dive center there, we welcome Giuliana to her new role as Assistant Dive Centre Manager at Prodivers Kuredu.

The best person to tell you all about Giuliana is Giuliana herself so here we hand over to her…

“I started diving in 2010, completing my PADI Open Water Diver course in Trieste, Italy. Since then I have been diving recreationally in Croatia and Red Sea. Later, I moved to Maldives where I went on to complete my Rescue Diver, Divemaster and Instructor Development Courses. My dive instructor career began in 2014 and worked here in the Maldives, in Ari Atoll, Dominican Republic, Gozo. I am just starting my third year working at Kuredu, having started here in October 2016.

Why do I love diving? Well, the underwater world is simply magical. The way these wonderful creatures, from the tiniest ones to the biggest, interact with each other is fascinating and the feeling of being in the water is like flying! I love the fact that every dive is different and there is always something special to experience. Mantas are amongst my favourite sea creatures, so majestic and full of grace; when you are lucky enough to be close to them you feel a sort of strange connection, I’ve never had this with any other animals (but I am still hoping to see whales underwater, that is my dream!)

I like travelling, and consider that as my hobby. I also like reading (especially thrillers), listening to music and eating good food. I’m not really a sporty person…apart from diving of course!

My main goal whilst teaching scuba diving is to communicate to my students the passion I have for the ocean and the need to have respect for it; in doing this I hope that I’m playing a little role in protecting our underwater world.”
