Easter Fun at Lily Beach

26 Apr 2017

Just in time for the Easter celebrations, eagle rays showed up on the Lily Beach house reef – up to twelve were spotted every day. The first sighting of them was in the lagoon as we made our way out on the boat for an early morning dive. The rumour was that the school of eagle rays was a family with children, but we rather like the alternative story that it was a female being followed by her male admirers! The house reef was super busy every morning with snorkellers and divers all trying to catch a glimpse of the Easter eagle rays.

We welcomed 35 repeater guests who had dived with us in previous years and who had returned for the festive period. Amongst them there were 18 children who joined dive courses and our dive trips. The conditions were perfect for divers and snorkellers of all experience levels – crystal clear, turquoise water, barely any wind or waves and pure sunshine made the time unforgettable.

The highlights of the Easter holidays were our annual underwater easter egg hunt and our family boat trip to Madi Faru, for parents with children below 10 years. The parents dived and the children snorkelled above, greeting each other at the surface.

Thank you very much to everyone who shared Easter with us here in the Maldives – we had a great time and we hope to meet again at Lily Beach Resort & Spa.
