Easter ‘Eggcitement’ planned at Prodivers
26 Mar 2018Spring is in the air and the Easter holidays are just around the corner. Easter and the glorious season of Spring are traditionally associated with not only chocolate eggs but also new beginnings. With the balmy temperatures of the Maldives the chocolate is a difficult one so let’s try something new! At Prodivers there are plenty of experiences planned over the Easter season that divers and snorkellers may not have tried before, here’s a snapshot of some of the exciting activities on offer that may be the beginning of ‘eggciting’ new underwater adventures:
Kuredu
As a family friendly resort Prodivers have some fun-filled half-day snorkel boats that are especially suitable for the whole family to enjoy together. Children can try out snorkelling in the safety of the lagoon with one of the Prodivers Snorkel Guides and for even more adventure they can join one of the Diving Instructors for a shallow dive on the lagoon as part of the PADI Bubblemaker experience.
Lily Beach
It’s adventure all round for families on Lily Beach – the children can try out scuba diving with the PADI Bubblemaker and even go on to take part in the Seal Team program where they complete exciting Scuba Aqua Missions which include taking underwater pictures and using a flash light! Certified divers can take part in the ‘almost-traditional’ Easter Egg Hunt at the House Reef on Easter Sunday. The whole family can join a boat on Easter Monday – the parents can dive while the children snorkel!
Hurawalhi
A new experience the snorkelers should put at the top of their ‘things to do’ list is the Twilight Safari Snorkel Excursion. The beautifully calm conditions at this time of year lend themselves perfectly to this special trip – hop on a boat with one of Prodivers’ experienced guides to a site famous for green sea turtles and have the chance to snorkel with them. Watch the beautiful Maldivian sunset from the boat and with luck, spot a pod of spinner dolphins. Once darkness descends go night snorkelling on a reef close to Hurawalhi with underwater lights and experience the magical phenomenon of bioluminescence.
Komandoo
Thrilling Easter dives are waiting for Komandoo’s guests. The amazing conditions are just perfect for taking the ever-popular underwater scooters for a spin. There will be a scooter 2-tank during the Easter weekend where the spectacular Lhaviyani Atoll channels can be explored with little effort and encounters with sharks and rays are very possible. Divers who haven’t tried out the scooters yet can learn how with a scooter introduction.
Please pop along to the Dive Center and check for timings of individual activities. The Prodivers teams are looking forward to sharing the Easter season and new adventures with you!
