Dive Update from Komandoo and Vakarufalhi

28 Aug 2012

We would like to introduce a new feature – a weekly update on the diving side of life from our dive centers on Komandoo and Vakarufalhi resorts. Hopefully along with the Blue Diaries this will allow you to keep up to date with all the diving action at all of Prodivers dive centers!

Prodivers on Komandoo had a fantastic week filled with some really great sightings. With Sailfish and Manta Rays making appearances in and around Fushi Varu, Gray Reef Sharks cruising close to our channels and guitar sharks sheltering off Aquarium its been a week of big sightings, although new ribbon eels were found on Tinga, Express and Bodu – just to act as a reminder of a great diversity that is on offer in our oceans! Although the west side of the atoll has seen the visibility start to drop off the east has stayed good, allowing some of these really great dives.

Vakarufalhi suffered a little with some bad weather, and consequently poorer visibility, however they were still able to get some great dives in everyday, and were lucky enough to be joined by Vittorio (pictured), who has visited the Maldives over 30 times and still loves the diving on offer here. Whilst staying with us on Vakarufalhi he got to experience some great night dives on the local wrecks, allowing for some fantastic photo opportunities.
