Dive Update – Komandoo and Vakarufalhi
01 Oct 2012
For this weeks update on what has been going on at our Komandoo and Vakarufalhi dive centres Komandoo reported a quiet week…
The weather has been good, clear skies and decent vis. They visited Fushivaru a few times and 7-8 Mantas both on the thila and cruising in the channel and on the corner. They found the yellow stripped Ribbon Eel on Tinga Giri and had a numerous turtles, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays and Sharks at various sites throughout the week. If this is a quiet week who knows what will be seen on a good week!
Vakarufalhi hasn’t been quiet so bashful, with a small but hard core group of divers they were able to do 3-4 dive every day including some great night dive son the local wreck (Kudhimaa), the beautiful reethi Thila provided some big schools of Snappers, sweetlips and barracuda. Digurah Beru provided an easy end to the week with a focus on the macro, with a number of the smaller tsars of the atoll being spotted including porcelain crabs.
With any luck the quiet weeks will continue for the rest of the season!
