Clean up the World 2012

This coming Sunday, on the 16th of September, Prodivers will be taking part in the Clean up the World Project. This is a project we have been part of for a number of years now and feel it’s a great way to both clean up our local environment (both on the island and in our seas) and raise awareness of the dangers and risks of not doing so to our guests.
This year we will be taking our divers to the house reef to collect all the rubbish that can accumulate there, for our non divers we will be visiting the local islands of Veiyvah and Vavvaru to collect rubbish from the beaches and the shallow waters.
Most of this rubbish is washed in from elsewhere although some is left through carelessness or ignorance and it is through projects like Clean up the World that we hope to reduce this waste and improve the quality of our beaches and oceans.
