While many island resorts were still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Lily Beach Resort & Spa Maldives reopened to guests mid July and the Prodivers team have been where they love to be – underwater! Situated in the midst of some of the Maldives’ best dive sites in South Ari Atoll, Lily Beach has been the perfect haven for scuba divers who could escape lockdown, hop on a plane and jump off a dhoni for stunning dives!

The diving has been fantastic with some of the highlights being full day trips to Fish Head, whale shark search missions and night dives on Kudhi Maa wreck. Two tank trips and afternoon dives also proved very popular with divers wanting to spend as much time in the water as possible. Sightings ranged from the very large whale sharks to the tiny and colourful nudibranchs with pretty much everything on the Maldives divers’bucket list appearing inbetween – mantas, stingrays, eagle rays, ghost pipe fish, guitar shark and many reef sharks. The beautiful reefs and abundance of fish provided the perfect backdrop for many memorable dives.
