Marc Zaalberg It
is a great thing to be able to combine two things that
you really enjoy and then be able to share it with others.
That is how I would describe underwater photography.
I started diving in my home town Nelson, New Zealand
and after traveling overseas decided I would like to
become an Instructor, having always had an interest
for photography it seemed like a natural progression
to start taking pictures underwater. So after becoming an Instructor I took a course in Underwater Photography, but did not take it up seriously until some years later when I started working for Kuredu ProDivers. At that time we had a lot of Instructors interested in underwater photography, their encouragement and the opportunity to take a camera on dives is what made me decide to purchase my first underwater camera, a Nikonos V. I have since upgraded my system twice changing the Nikonos for an Auto focus Nikon F90 in a housing and later changing the F90 for a Nikon F100. The camera is housed in a Sealux housing mounted with the Subtronic Mega strobe with a selection of different ports to house the various AF Nikor lenses that I use, the 20mm, 35mm, 60mm Micro and 105mm Micro. All the photos below were taken in the Maldives on dive sites accessible when diving with ProDivers Maldives. I hope you like the following selection, if you have
any comments or would like more information please feel
