MALDIVIAN SHARK & RAY DIVER
Sharks have been keeping our oceans in synch for millions of years, continuously evolving into the 1100 species of shark and ray in existence today. Sitting at the top of the food chain, sharks traditionally had few natural predators.
But the predator has turned into the prey. Sharks populations are being destroyed around the world as the demand for shark fins and shark products has increased, thanks in part to the increasing demand across the Asian countries.

The PADI Maldivian Shark & Ray Distinctive Specialty Course was developed by Prodivers to help increase the awareness about these magnificent creatures.
Find out more about the incredible sensory system that sharks and rays posses. Learn how to identify the different species and whether they are male or female. Understand the mating behavior and the need for us to preserve and protect the current populations.
With conservation of our shark and ray populations a priority, Prodivers is working together with THE SHARK TRUST, a UK based charity and THE MALDIVIAN MANTA RAY PROJECT to help monitor and track shark populations around the Maldives.
The course also includes the chance of diving with sharks and rays. This gives you the chance to put the theory from the course into practice and see these incredible guardians of the ocean in their natural environment.
