Kuredu Prodivers is the largest PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre in the Maldives. PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDC) are run twice a year in both English and German.
Becoming an instructor is often a big step for a lot of people, and here at Prodivers we are able to offer excellent training facilities for all our candidates. These facilities, the relaxed atmosphere here on the island and the extensive experience of Ute Frlec (IDC Course Director), who runs the courses has allowed us to maintain a very high success rate in the Instructor Examination.
We also offer continuing education for the already certified PADI Instructor. Emergency First Response Instructor, Nitox Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Digital Underwater Photographer Instructor and IDC Staff Instructor being just some of the additional qualifications available.
The PADI IDC program is split in to two parts and takes a total of 10 days. Success is required in each of the sections before a candidate is able to sit the 2 day Instructor Examination (IE) that takes place immediately after the IDC.
The IDC kicks off with the 4 day Assistant Instructor Course (AI). Upon successful completion of this section, candidates can then proceed onto the 6 day Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. The Instructor Examination (IE) is held on Kuredu itself, and is overseen by PADI Examiner Thomas Sobotta.
Instructors who are already certified to instructor leadership level with a recreational dive training organization other than PADI are exempt from the AI section of the program and just need to join the OWSI program.
