Prodivers at BOOT 2012

The Boot has kicked off! One of the world’s most awesome shows, made such by the presence of Prodivers smack-bang in the middle.

Those of you who are lucky enough to get a chance to come to Düsseldorf and have a look at all the new shiny toys on display and make up your minds about your next diving holiday destination, will be able to have a chat to our staff and a gander at what we have to offer.

This year we have decided to share our stall with a couple of lesser known entities in the diving world, such as PADI and Project AWARE Foundation. Whilst we understand that Prodivers is, and will remain the main attraction for most of you, do pop along and greet our neighbours. (more…)

Movie Prodivers Kuredu Maldives

After a busy high season of collecting footage, our videographer Julia finished PD Production’s newest movie. Surely “A piece of paradise to take away”.

Its story plays between urban flair, island paradise, an extraordinary journey through the world of “moving pictures” and beyond its limits. It shows the best shots from both surface and underwater, including footage from Lhaviyani & Noonu Atoll, it presents the (more…)

Last 7 Days on Kuredu Maldives

After a short break, right in time for the “Monsoon” in Maldives we’re back with Season 4 of “The last 7 Days on Kuredu”.

The rainy season started, the weather might be a bit more “moody” than before and the visibility underwater not as great as in dry season, but with the wind and the currents come the plankton, with the plankton comes the fish and with the fish comes the predator. And for us the weather doesn’t (more…)

Camouflage Kuredu Maldives

As beautiful and fascinating nature can be, endowed with its unique complexity, as rough and simple are the rules for survival: the weakest one loses! However, not only size and strength, but also intelligence and craftiness determine who stays alive.

While for the giants of the sea like whales, sharks and rays humans are the biggest concern, there are much smaller creatures well equipped to camouflage themselves to (more…)

Shipyard Maldives Kuredu

The Republic of Maldives consists of around 1200 islands, divided into 26 Atoll, spread over an area of less than 300 000 square kilometers, with just 1% land and 99%  water.

So it’s not really surprising that the most important means of  transport in Maldives are ships and boats and where man and machine meet, there has to be a few incidents along the way… accidentally or  on purpose! However, where humans fail – nature creates! (more…)

Shark Action on Orimas

Shark Orimas Maldives

Our arrival at the famous Orimas Thila in the Noon Atoll was greeted by schooling batfish, curiously breaking the surface and swimming sideways around the boat to get a closer look.

Full of anticipation we jumped into the water, and as soon as everybody settled down, the sea rewarded our early morning departure: a bunch of grey reef sharks, from half a meter up to two meters came out of the blue to check us out – closer and closer – circling around right in front of us, “standing up” and opening their mouths (more…)

The Lhaviyani’s Untouched East

Dolphins Kuredu Maldives

Always on the lookout for new dive sites, we thought it was about time we checked out the south eastern side of the Atoll.

We have been running full day trips to this untouched corner of the Atoll for the past few weeks, but last weeks trip threw up some great treats.  As Jutta and Julia headed out with their group to Fathima Kandu for their first dive, anticipation levels were rising as to what the day would bring. Calm waters (more…)
