Kuda Rah Thila Maldives

Kudah Rah Thila is one of the Maldives most famous and most visited dive sites.

Well known for the schooling fish that call Kudah Rah Thila home, the dive site is packed full of snappers, fusiliers, jack fish and much much more.

Located just 15 minutes away from Vakarufalhi, Kuda Rah remains close to the top of most people’s wish list when they dive in the South Ari Atoll. (more…)

Nudi detail

The last couple of weeks we have been doing a number of full day trips out to the Noonu Atoll.

One of the full day trips, headed by Marc, went to Christmas Rock, followed by Orimas Thila and, as chilled 3rd dive, Easa Faru.

The divers were amazed at Christmas Rock with its stunning colors. With sleeping stingrays together with a small white tip reef shark, beautiful nudibranchs, colorful soft corals and (more…)

Shark Diving Maldives Orimas Thila

More sharks than you can safely shake a stick at.  Orimas Thila yet again turned up the temperature and put on a dazzling display for one of our full day scuba diving boats this week.

As Mueen and his ‘Tiefenrausch‘ dive group from Berlin packed their kit bags and left Kuredu at the crack of dawn, little did he know of the surprise Orimas had in store for the first dive of the day. (more…)

Dolphins Kuda Rah Thila Maldives

It is not unusual to see big schools of fish at Kuda Rah Thila, which is a protected Marine Park, a mere 15 minutes way from Vakarufalhi.

While watching a school of more than 100 jack fish hunting and causing havoc amongst the fusiliers yesterday, we were already blown away by the National Geographic action taking place right in front of us.

100 jacks darting through the water, fusiliers panicking (more…)

Group Diving Maldives

Over 100 divers from more than 6 different countries descended on Kuredu in February as Prodivers was host to a number of different diving groups from around the world!  With the Carnival in Brazil in full swing and the cold european winter hitting its peak, it was clearly too much for some as they escaped to the warm Indian Ocean and to Kuredu.

Between the 13th and 27th of February, the dive center was buzzing (more…)

Pilot Whales Maldives Kuredu

A rare, but fantastic sighting of 3 pilot whales on a full day dive trip this week topped off a great day’s diving.

A couple of days ago, Yaafis and 7 guests from Kuredu headed out for a relaxing full day of diving.  After checking out Fushivaru Thila for the first dive of the day, the group then headed over to the south west corner of the atoll to the island of Dhidhoo.  Dhidhoo is a deserted island surrounded (more…)

Kuredu Maldives Dolphins

Dolphin are regularly seen by our divers and snorkelers as they are out and about across the Lhaviyani Atoll, but rarely do we have the chance to swim with them. Danifaru is a spot that boasts countless sightings throughout the year, so it was no surprise when two of our full day trips came across 3 bottle nose dolphins in the shallow water.

Dolphins across the Maldives, whether they be bottle nose or (more…)

Rare Cuttle Fish Kuredu Maldives

During a lunchtime dive this week, Paul, one of our diving instructors, went out for a dive on Bodu Giri, where they stumbled across a rare cuttlefish! Clearly happy with his new found fame, and knowing from Paul’s reaction that he was a rare sighting, the cuttle fish posed for the camera in the shallow water.

Cuttle fish have a parrot like beak and ten arms extending from the front of their bodies.  Two of these arms are elongated (more…)

Manta Kuredu Maldives

Manta Kuredu Maldives

Yesterday’s full day trip here in the Lhaviyani Atoll was an incredible day packed full with majestic Manta Rays.  13 of Kuredu’s divers headed down to the south of the Atoll, with one goal in mind – to find the elusive Manta.

Markus and James, the two guides for the full day, decided to first check out Madivaru Thila. Madivaru Thila sits directly in a channel, and is therefore influenced by the currents that run right over the top of it. But it is these currents that have made Madivaru Thila (more…)
