In support of the European Shark Week and global shark conservation efforts,  along with the great success of the previous two years’ events,  we are thrilled to announce that we will again run the Shark and Ray Week Special in October.

Aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sustaining shark populations,  increasing education about these vulnerable creatures and giving our divers the opportunity to dive at some of the most amazing sites,  we are hoping for yet another great month of shark and ray action. (more…)

Kuredu Clean Up The World

We’re proud to report that we took part in yet another successful Clean up the world event on Sunday.

A special thanks goes to over 50 guests who participated in the reef and beach clean-ups around Kuredu.  More than 20 decided to help us clean the beach, and another 30 kindly offered to give us a hand with the underwater clean-up.

As usual, at this time of the year, the international Clean Up the World event has taken place on Komandoo Island Resort.

During this year’s edition, six guests and about twenty staff were involved in the activities which involved the clean up of the lagoon and part of the house reef.  Several bags full of litter were taken off of the reef.

Manta Ray Kuredu Maldives

No, we don’t mean Christmas & New Year, although that was a lot of fun!  We mean manta ray season for snorkelers!

The numbers of sightings are picking up all over the atoll, especially at Dhanifaru and right here on our door step at the Sandbank.  This means that it has become time to restart our very popular manta ray course which we offer to our snorkeling guests. (more…)

The annual ‘Clean Up The World’ day took place once again on Komandoo in 2010. Like every year around this time, Prodivers and Komandoo Island resort organize this one-day event to coincide with the worldwide, non-profit, ‘Clean up The World’ program.
