Silvia and Steve left Komandoo Prodivers for good at the end of July. After working 2 years in Komandoo they decided to move on to a “normal life” in Germany. We never like to say good bye, but soon or later we have to. We wish them all the best on their next adventure.

After a short break, right in time for the “Monsoon” in Maldives we’re back with Season 4 of “The last 7 Days on Kuredu”.
The rainy season started, the weather might be a bit more “moody” than before and the visibility underwater not as great as in dry season, but with the wind and the currents come the plankton, with the plankton comes the fish and with the fish comes the predator. And for us the weather doesn’t Read the rest of this entry »

DAN Chamber Course July 2011 at Kuredu Prodivers
At the beginning of July DAN (Diver Alert Network) together with Prodivers held a Chamber Attendant and Chamber Operator course on Kuredu. The aim was to train people how to safely attend or operate a decompression chamber.
The people came from near and far in the Maldives to join the course and off course Prodivers had some of their staff join as well. A total of 8 participants joined the course that was presented by Morne Christou from DAN Southern Africa in South Africa. These two intense and action packed courses ran over six days with theory and lots of practical application. Read the rest of this entry »

During the night of June 15th to the 16th, we were lucky enough to watch the first of two lunar eclipses in 2011.
Quite good weather conditions with just a few clouds and a small amount of surrounding light made the beach of Kuredu the perfect place to enjoy this spectacle of nature.
It was a relatively rare central lunar eclipse and with a total duration of almost 5h and 40 min – the longest and darkest Read the rest of this entry »

Talk about spoiling two of our guests that were doing dive number 3 of their Discover Scuba Diving package!
Not only happy with the great coral life and huge amount of fish life that makes Tinga Giri a great relaxed dive site for beginners and experienced divers alike, our lucky Resort Divers were greeted by a very curious leopard shark while doing the safety stop at the end of the dive.
Even our instructor Bettina couldn’t believe Read the rest of this entry »

As the end of their 2 week stay came closer for Claudia, Stephan and Marc, they decided to do their last dive of their holiday on the house reef.
The idea was a chilled out dive and taking some nice shots with the camera of the smaller reef fish as well as the wreck.
During their descent suddenly their air consumption tremendously increased and the Read the rest of this entry »
