Welcome Barbara and Sebastjan

Barbara, Seba

A couple of weeks ago Sebastjan and Barbara, both from Slovenia, joined our team on Kuredu.

Sebastjan completes our Instructor Team and brings not only a lot of experience with him, but also a lot of enthusiam! Having only worked in cold waters back in Europe, he is over the moon to have the chance to teach and guide in the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean.

Mantas In The Morning…

Mantas HR

The Kuredu House Reef threw up some additional surprises for both our divers and snorkelers this week.

Shortly after our morning snorkel boat headed out to the first site of the day, they called in to tell us about 10 Manta Rays cruising around the first coral block on the house reef, close to the lagoon.

Sightings of Mantas on the Kuredu House Read the rest of this entry »

8 Sailfish on Kuredu Express

Sailfish

Two days ago Yaafis went out to Kuredu Express with 3 divers and once again the dive site produced the goods as they had a great dive.

Although the currents were quite small, the action thrown out by Express was nevertheless pretty impressive.

Welcomed by grey reef sharks right at the beginning of the dive, the divers also had the resident school of jack fish and the some huge Read the rest of this entry »

Last Semi Final Match…

Semifinal goal

For tonight’s game between the Cleaner Shrimp and the Lion Fish, one contest you really need to keep a close eye on is between the goalkeepers of each team.  The Banded Boxer Shrimp and the Zebra Dwarf Lion Fish are pulling on the number 1 shirts this evening for their teams.

Thanks to its long arms, the Banded Boxer Shrimp is well made for the job as keeper, helped by the fact it can easily reach the Read the rest of this entry »

Exciting times ahead…

Semifinal goal

The first two teams to meet each other in the Semi Final are the Dolphins versus the Turtles. Earlier we mentioned all the advantages of the different teams and this time we have to make special mention of the goal keepers. Even though they don’t play a part in the actual attack they are the final defense for the team. The outcome of the game depends a lot on how good the keeper is in stopping the opposing team to score a goal! Read the rest of this entry »

World Cup Fever Hits Kuredu!

Title4-web

To coincide with the current World Cup in South Africa, we are having our own World Cup here on Kuredu, but unfortunately without the glamour and sparkle brought by the likes of Ronaldo, Torres and Kaka. Instead, it’s the fish of the Indian Ocean that are battling it out against one another to claim the coveted crown.

Following on from some bruising and incredible matches of the group phase, we Read the rest of this entry »

Kuredu Welcomes Tuuli and Markko!

Markko, Tuuli

Prodivers is pleased to welcome two new team members on Kuredu -  Tuuli and Markko.

Tuuli and Markko are both from Estonia and are bringing a lot of experience to the team, having dived in the cold waters back home, as well as the warm waters of Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and Egypt.

We hope that they enjoy their time on Kuredu, and have a lot of enjoyable dives!

The Silvertips Are Back!

silvertip KFFC

Around the same time last year, divers from Kuredu and Komandoo had some great encounters with Silvertip Sharks on KFFC.  The good news is, they are back!

It seems that the year away from the waters of the Lhaviyani Atoll has also allowed them to lose their fear of cameras as we have had them coming very close to pose for photographs.

After an initial sighting at KFFC, one of our instructors, Markus, returned to Read the rest of this entry »
