The next Instructor Development Course with Prodivers Kuredu will start very soon; Ute and Miha Frlec are coming to Kuredu from the 2nd to the 15th of May to teach the first IDC of the year and will be back for another from the 10th to the 20th of September.

As many of you will know, the elusive whale shark is an extremely infrequent visitor to our waters, so when we heard a rumour that some of them had been spotted on the outreef at Kanifushi we immediately filled a boat with divers and headed down there!

One of our guests couldn’t hide his amazement when he discovered a very strange fish on Anemone Thila.
Excitedly, he called Markus, one of our instructors, and showed him his discovery. Markus was just as amazed - A big pink-/orange coloured Giant Frogfish (Antennarius commerson) was sitting proudly on show in the middle of a big table coral.

A New Years Eve morning trip to Kuda Kandu on the east side of Lhaviyani atoll brought an even bigger end of year surprise than any of a fortunate handful of Komandoo guests could have ever expected…

As every year in Komandoo, Santa hid a few tags on the house reef for the divers and snorkelers to find.
Today in the morning, 15 divers and 5 snorkelers where keen enough to wake up early to seek for them. After an hour dive, everybody came back with a number to be exchanged for a present.
We would like to thank at all the participants and also to Santa who does not forget us even if we are so far away from home.
Santa Claus has already been to Komandoo. We have been such a nice team this year that Santa came a bit early and dropped a few presents for the Prodivers Team.
We got thirty one brand new Mares rental BCDs. Yuppi!!! They are fully equipped with all the dump valves, two Velcro pockets, whistle and SMB.
Thank you Santa!! We hope that our divers will enjoy this present too!!
