Everyone wants to experience the thrill of diving with sharks. Over 15 species of sharks have been sighted in our atoll, 6 of which are regularly seen by divers.
The abundance of these incredible creatures makes chances quite high and few divers leave disappointed.

Sharks are a hot topic this year at the Boot Show in Düsseldorf, with many great causes being promoted to help protect shark populations around the world.
The Shark Project is a non profit organisation based out of Switzerland, that are fighting hard to ensure the future of the fish of the top of most divers wish list.
Each year, Shark Project presents a ‘Shark Guardian’ and ‘Shark Enemy’ award. The Guardian Award is for individuals or organisations that stand out in the fight for shark protection.
This year, we are pleased to report that the award went to the Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed, for the sterling work in extending the regulations to forbid the fishing of sharks across the whole of the country as well as putting a stop to the export of any shark products.
In addition, Shark Project also took this opportunity to launch a new iPhone / iPad app, dedicated purely to sharks!
The app contains information about over 70 different sharks, together with where they can found around the world, (more…)
The topography of the Lhaviyani Atoll results in an astounding quantity of fish life.
If you’d like to take it easy, the reefs offer stunning hard and soft coral growth and an abundance of fish life. For many divers the thrill of spotting and identifying a new fish is one of the reasons they love to dive.
Although it might be difficult to pick one, we’re certain that you’ll find your favourite one.

After having had a day packed full of Turtles on Kuredu and at Caves, the team in Dusseldorf have been looking for alternatives to bring you from the Boot Show.
We didn’t have to search for long – and it took us a little bit surprise! Who would have expected a ‘Flying Clown’ right there, cruising past the Prodivers stand.

The chattering of the teeth and continuous shaking by Rosa, Staffan and Ray over the past few days led to the incredibly generous team at Fourth Element providing us with a cracking set of Prodivers jackets!
Specially prepared for the Boot Show, the team are now snug and warm, and almost completely decked out in Fourth Element gear. Fourth Element provide us with our Prodivers range of clothing that we have for sale on Kuredu, Komandoo and Vakarufalhi.

Divers, divers, divers and more divers! The ‘Boot Show’ has arrived with a bang, with the presentation of the Sea Star Underwater Bikini Model of the Year, the discovery of ‘DekoBeer’, and a stream of friendly faces and new guests.

The Boot has kicked off! One of the world’s most awesome shows, made such by the presence of Prodivers smack-bang in the middle.
Those of you who are lucky enough to get a chance to come to Düsseldorf and have a look at all the new shiny toys on display and make up your minds about your next diving holiday destination, will be able to have a chat to our staff and a gander at what we have to offer.
This year we have decided to share our stall with a couple of lesser known entities in the diving world, such as PADI and Project AWARE Foundation. Whilst we understand that Prodivers is, and will remain the main attraction for most of you, do pop along and greet our neighbours. (more…)
