Our team has received a boost!

A French instructor couple joined us a week ago, so yes – now we again have quite a few French speaking staff. Their arrival has been a long-awaited one, especially for Ben who has been a popular figure, hence a very busy one, amongst the French guests. Elodie and Alexis (there’s been a minor dilemma about his shortened name which Alex, the senior instructor cleared fairly quickly!) have already been involved in the daily diving routine at Prodivers and are already taking divers out for orientation dives and resort diving. Vice-President Sales, Marketing and Market Development at PADI EMEA paid us a short visit before joining the PADI Round Table in Male. Our instructors were more than happy to take the PADI EMEA capo di banda out diving. He loves to dive in the Maldives and it wasn’t any different this time! (more…)

Again one of the hardest to spot fish in the sea!

Frogfish Aquarium

Aquarium is a site that many of our guests enjoy;  its sheltered location, and ample fish life make it a prime choice for beginners, courses and for the more experienced diver when the weather conspires against us.

A popular spot for the rarely sighted Guitar Shark/Ray,  with huge amounts of schooling fish; in particular banner fish, fusiliers and snappers and hunting jacks and occasional tuna cruising past to add to the excitement. Now we have one more friend to add to the list. A Frogfish. (more…)

Doing it on Kuredu

IDC 2012 Kuredu Maldives

After 10 days of hard work, our OWSI candidates are ready for the Instructor Examination – it’s kicking off tomorrow morning! Miha and Ute prepared them well for the dive theory and PADI Standards exams, classroom teaching and confined and open water presentations which will be evaluated by a PADI Examiner.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been doing our best to support 8 divemasters in their ambition to become instructors – they first completed the Assistant Instructor Course, followed by the Emergency First Response Instructor Course and on Sunday, we’ll hopefully be proud to present you newly certified Open Water Scuba Instructors. A big thank you also goes to Stan, the IDC Staff Candidate, for his input, and Sebastjan for giving a hand with coordination. (more…)
