The South Ari Atoll offers breathtaking thila formations covered with some of the best soft coral found anywhere in the Maldives. Mix in countless white tip reef sharks, turtles, endless schools of fish and top things off with the whale shark capital of the Maldives just around the corner.
Vakarufalhi boasts access to over 30 dive sites, which includes many of the Maldives favorites. The added bonus is that most of the sites are less than 20 minutes away.
The daily dive destinations are chosen by our experienced instructor team and reflect the expected conditions, the experience of the divers on the boat and previously visited sites. With OVER 30 DIVE SITES to choose from, we try not to repeat any dive spots unless requested, or conditions dictate otherwise.
Boats leave throughout the day, helping to make sure you get the most out of your diving time on Vakarufalhi:
Single Dive Trips
Depart daily in the morning and afternoon.
2 Tank Dive Trips
Get 2 dives in before lunch, with an hour surface interval in-between.
Full Day Trips
Heading out for the whole day means that we can head further afield and reach some of those sites not normally possible with the regular boat trips.
Early Morning Dive Trips
Enjoy the stunning spectacle of the reef waking up and the sun rising while underwater.
Sunset & Night Dive Trips
DHIGURAH ETERE and Coral Garden are spectacular night dive sites very close to Vakarufalhi. Join us and experience the reef by night.
Prodivers uses traditional Maldivian 'dhonis' for its dive trips. Dhonis are the main form of transport in this island nation, being used for fishing, excursions, diving and also as delivery trucks!
The design of the Maldivian dhoni has changed very little over the years, with a distinctive tall, curved prow standing upright at the front of the boat. Mainly decorative, the prow also serves to aid navigation when approaching shallow reefs. Modern dhonis often have the prow removed to enable mooring and unloading. The stern of the dhoni is flat and is where the captain stands whilst steering the boat with his foot.
In a slight adaption to the original design, our dhonis are also fitted with a sundeck and a toilet to ensure the journey to and from the dive sites is as comfortable as possible.
